EBC Financial Group has partnered with United to Beat Malaria, a flagship campaign of the United Nations Foundation, to support efforts in eradicating one of the world’s deadliest diseases. This collaboration underscores EBC’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and aligns with its mission to foster a healthier, more equitable future.
Malaria Remains a Leading Threat to Children’s Health
According to the World Health Organization’s World Malaria Report 2023, an estimated 249 million malaria cases and 608,000 deaths occurred globally in 2022. Alarmingly, over 76% of these deaths were among children under five years old. Malaria continues to affect 60 countries, threatening the lives of millions and placing an enormous strain on healthcare systems.
Global Impact and Tangible Results
EBC’s involvement in the campaign contributes to a broader effort that has already protected over 40 million people and facilitated the distribution of 183,450 insecticide-treated tents to communities in need. These efforts are part of the ongoing global initiative “Defeating Malaria Together,” which unites international partners to collectively tackle the spread of the disease.
Move Against Malaria 5K Virtual Run 2024
To raise awareness and further support the campaign, EBC is encouraging global participation in the Move Against Malaria 5K Virtual Run, taking place from April 25 to May 5, 2024. This charity run invites individuals and organizations to join the fight by promoting awareness and raising funds for vital malaria treatment tools and programs.
EBC’s Vision for a Healthier Future
Through its partnership with United to Beat Malaria, EBC continues to demonstrate leadership in global health initiatives. By supporting the development of life-saving interventions and engaging in impactful campaigns, EBC is empowering communities and contributing to long-term global well-being.
EBC Financial Group invites individuals, partners, and global citizens to stand united in the fight against malaria. Join the campaign to help protect children and families and contribute to a future free from malaria. Let’s be the generation to end malaria—for good.
